I just noticed this camera is now priced at £1499.00. Whilst this doesn't seem to be a popular camera do any users out there feel this is a good price? I always promised myself a Leica when I early retired!

Great camera, great price, remember with A Leica it's all about the photographer!

We could all probably drive a race car, B U T not like the professionals..

So with A Leica you do need to understand photography over and above Auto & IS//

It's a very good price point and is valid for the black or silver version. For a Leica it is a bargain. If you also want the electronic viewfinder you can take the Olympus version, half the price of the Leica.

The lens may seem slow but is of amazing quality. I like the simplicity of the handling of the camera.

Thank you for your responses. I tried an X1 years ago and thought the image quality was excellent, but decided on the Fuji X100. How have you found high ISO performance? say up to 6400?

I can't speak for the Vario, but my X1 goes up to ISO 3200 and I had no qualms about using it in a gloomy building.

This was taken at 1600

The price seems to be very attractive!

I would like to know how long the X Vario would take, after taking a full-size 16mp RAW photo, to write it on SD card? Some of these 16mp cameras have very slow RAW write times. My Pentax K01 takes more than 2 seconds to write a full-size RAW image, and even longer, for higher iso settings.
