Here's my simple short review
Cons first :
1) Only Provia/Standard/BW is available in EXR Mode. Other film simulation is only available in other modes
2) Battery capacity could be better.
3) Cannot change USB connection to mass storage mode
4) no hot shoe mount
5) no USB charging. (Though I could find cheap USB charger for the battery for $10-15)
6) transferring images to windows 8.1 pro N edition, I needed to install the "Media Feature Pack" from microsoft first
Pros
1) Manual zoom
2) Excellent low light. EXR Mode really shines. Crisp, clear night shots. Beautiful JPEGs
3) Film simulation modes are available for videos also
4) In-video stills capture
5) Clear LCD screen
6) For under $250 now, it's a steal
7) f/1.8, easy bokeh. great macro shots.
8) larger than 1/1.7 sensors. Couldn't get a bigger sensor at this price
9) considerably friendlier UI than X10. Enough buttons and physical controls. Quick to change shutter speed/etc...
10) fast focus, optical stabilisation
11) global warranty
12) manual flash popup
EXR Mode Auto . no post processing
EXR Mode Auto . no post processing
short conclusion:
a damn fine , polished camera at an unbelievable bargain. I Bought mine at $156. prices fluctuate.
easy to get beautiful , artsy photos anytime, in bright or low light condition.
