Does the A6000 have a digital zoom?

I'm on the verge of buying the A6000 with the kit lens and the 55-210 tele. If I'm using the 16-50 and I want more length, but I'm too lazy to change lenses, can I revert to the digital zoom (if it has one)?

The specs don't mention a digital zoom, but I thought that I would check with you folks,

Yes, Digital Zoom and something called "Clear Image Zoom", but that is only 2x.

From the user guide:

You can select the zoom setting of the product.

1. MENU → (Custom Settings) → [Zoom Setting] → desired setting.

Optical zoom only (default setting):
Optical zoom is activated. You can use the Smart Zoom function if you set [Image Size] to [M] or .

On:ClearImage Zoom:
Even if the zoom range of the optical zoom is exceeded, the product magnifies images within the range in which image quality does not deteriorate significantly.

On：Digital Zoom:
When the zoom range of the [Clear Image Zoom] is exceeded, the product magnifies images to the largest scale. However, the image quality will deteriorate.

Don't have an A6000 but I think the A7 works the same for this.

I have clearzoom (sometimes digital zoom) set up so that I just hit the down button on the four way buttons on the back and it comes up.....then hit the WB button to zoom in and the drive button to zoom back out.

Works very well and at least with clearzoom there is not much image degradation.

I love that it is variable.

In video mode I think it will be very useful (with practice) to turn fast primes into zooms.....I see hardly any (if any) loss in quality with clearzoom....even at 2x and for video maybe even some of the further digital zoom range might be useable for some things.

Cant wait to try an A7s with my 85 1.2 with clearzoom in video.

Yes the a6000 has both Clear Image Zoom and Digital Zoom.

As said Clear Image Zoom only goes to 2X, but IQ isn't too bad. Here's a shot from my NEX-6 and 18-200 at 200 with CIZ at 2X. So 400 effective and 600 field of view.

OSS has some difficulty at this length so hold steady or use support.

Keeps saying its either disabled or not available but Crazy Sony menus don't explain what you NEED to set up to be on to get it to work!

I was able to turn on Clear Image Zoom in Menu Tab 2 (gear icon), page 3, 2nd choice. but that doesn't help

how do i enable the ZOOM option?

Wow. Old thread. I don't have the a6000 anymore but on the a6300 you set the Zoom Setting to either ClearImage Zoom or Digital Zoom (or Optical Only) under the Gear Icon, Tab 3. The Zoom option under the Camera Icon is to set the zoom level, not turn it on or off.

Look for a Zoom Setting option. The a6000 is likely the same.

Also this is for jpeg only, not raw.
