Having just recently acquired my first Fujifilm camera, the X-T1, I was wondering how I could try a couple of my existing Canon fit lenses on it.

Notably my Samyang 35mm f/1.4 and my Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS.

The Samyang is a fully manual lens with an aperture control ring whilst I will have to keep the 70-200mm at its fully open f/4 aperture. However I believe the 70-200mm is quite good at its fully open aperture.

So can anyone tell me what converters are available to convert between Canon EF mount lenses and my new Fujifilm X-T1 ?

Lots of posts here on EF>Fuji adapters. Canon EF is a very difficult mount to use on mirrorless bodies, since almost all lens functions are controlled electronically.

The basic $30 bare-bones adapters have no aperture control whatsoever, and any Canon lenses that focus by wire will not focus.

There are $100 adapters with onboard aperture mechanisms, which give some aperture control but don't seem to be very effective. They cause heavy vignetting at smaller apertures. Still no focusing available for focus-by-wire lenses.

There are $400+ adapters with electronic aperture/focus control available for Sony E-mount. None seem to be available in Fuji X mount.

So as long as you're happy shooting your 70-200/4.0 wide-open, you can use a basic adapter. Then the choice becomes $30 for a Chinese basic adapter, $100 for a Japanese basic adapter or $250 for a German basic adapter.

Thanks for the general info.

I had assumed that I would have to focus manually and both lenses that I want to try both have manual focus rings.

Only the Samyang lens has an aperture ring but I believe the Canon 70-200mm should be OK at its default wide open aperture. (After-all thats why I want to try them out.)

Can you name me a decent (metal mounts) cheap adaptor and suggest where I might be able to get one ? (Amazon I hope. I live in the UK and we don't have much support for out-of-the-ordinary things over here.)

Guy, I've a 70-200 Canon too, I was told to use the metabones (not sure if that is spell right)adapter but then that may be for the Zeiss lens. I"m not sure.
