For me the best outdoor camera I owned until now

daveh6700 already wrote a review I agree with, where I just added some remarks, and answered some user questions, so it's not necessary to repeat a lot.

You might be disappointed that I as an outdoor fotographer do not describe the GPS feature of the camera, but I turned it off. I nearly always have an outdoor GPS unit with me, therefore I do not want to waste battery power for a feature I do not need (I'm used to georeference my fotos with a software on my PC, using the GPS-track of my Garmin unit).

I just weighted some scores differently than Dave, because I use the camera mainly for outdoor fotos, that's the reason I added a separate review entry.

GPS was the very first thing that I turned off as I really, honestly, could not care less about it. And it bugs me that it clutters up the quick menu. I mean why does it have to be in the quick menu when it's already got a main menu section all to itself? How often and how quickly do all the people who need GPS need to be turning it on and off?

That's why I'm glad the ZS40 doesn't have a touch screen. No bigger pet hate for me on a camera than those things.
