Just got the hood and filter ring kit. More a FYI here, be sure to read the direction because the filter ring adapter will mount either way. However, if mounted backwards you can not attach he the lens hood, which I found out the hard way. It is a pain to remove the filter if screwed in the wrong way.

I have a question regarding this with hoods; I have a pentacon 49mm square hood coming and currently have the adapter ring with a 49mm filter on it. Is it possible to use both a filter and this hood together?

I have no idea, not familiar with pentagon. I use the Fuji OEM product, ring and lens hood.

After doing some research it seems not, the fuji lens hoods fit using a bayonet connection and this one is 49mm threaded. Decisions

Just get a JJC knockoff from ebay and save yourself a lot of money. The price for the OEM Fuji adapter is insane.

I use one of these and they work great. They come in silver or black and the cost is around $20 USD.

When mounting a filter I always put a very thin cast of silicone oil with a coton Q tips on the thread since filters acn block easily especially on the sea side where i live.
