I was asking about HDR with RAW in another thread ( http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/53102612 ). Got a lot of good advice, Thank you. I got another lead that I followed up on, EasyHDR (www.easyHDR.com). The program is great, easy to use, and the presets are very usefull. does single or multiple images, and batch. The only problem was it wasn't displaying the RW2 file form my FZ70 correctly. I emailed their support. A couple of emails and a few hours later and I had the update needed to work with my RW2s. Amazing support. Thanks Bartek. Bartek says there will be a general release with this update very soon.

Here are som images I took after an icestorm we had on the 13Th. The 14th was light to heavy cloud cover. HDR age tecture and some brightness to what were otherwise very flat images. Today's images were very dynamic so HRD helped bring out detail in the dark and color in washouts. HDR isn't for everything but I think it came in handy here. Your opinion is welcome.

the next one is a JPG just resized, no HDR or editing

Thanks, that's what I was going for.

Good set Briansdad1, pretty sharp and PP not over done, quite natural looking.

Tastefully done, retaining a "natural" appearance. Well done!

This is how I like HDR to be used, and how I try to use it myself - to get an "enhanced image" that literally just has "high dynamic range" (more dynamic range than the camera is capable of with a single shot)... revealing extra detail and texture, especially in highlights and shadows (and preventing blown highlights and blocked shadows).

This is NOT the kind of unreal "in-your-face" obviously-HDR "effect" that we often see, that I usually find unpleasant...

Great series of beautiful panorama Brian!! Congrats

Midcoast Maine. On the coast, the weather is much milder than inland. We've usually will have an ice storm once every couple of years. this year we've had 3. More snow than usual too. 6 more inches tomorrow!

Thank you everyone for your comments and interest in the first place. I really expected a lot of do-this and do-that better remarks. So my head is a little swollen this morning. Then I remember the 100 or so images in this series that didn't get posted. "Give a monkey a typewriter and, eventually, he'll spell a word" :-D

Sorry if your head gets a little more swollen but I like these shots quite a bit too. :) Number 1 and 6 are my favorites. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing these.

Images 1, 5-7 are hand held (7 is a single image jpg - not HDR).

2-4 are with tripod

Though a bit more HDRy than the others, the first image is my favorite. It all works for a nostalgic, reustic feel.
