This lens has become my go-to lens for low light event work. The image quality is absolutely stunning. I find working with this lens can be a little challenging sometimes mainly because of the lens's tendency to focus hunt and thus miss moments now and again, but when tamed and focus is kept on the subject, I know I'm going to love the results. I mostly use this lens at f1.8 and you can see in my flickr collection below just how sharp this lens really is. (pics are tagged with lens names)
I would say this has become my signature lens. I love the mix of focal length, wide aperture, and incredible image quality. It is built like no other lens I've ever used, and is a pure joy to use. I suppose someday Zeiss will come out with an updated version with SSM and weather sealing but I'm glad I didn't wait for it. I've got hundreds of wonderful photos with this lens in the 8 or so months that I've owned it and wouldn't trade them to wait. I am giving this lens a full 5 stars because it's already that good. Add SSM and weather sealing and I'd give it 7 stars out of 5.
