Surely I should be able to run my S2 purely from the power adapter? When all the batteries are removed I can see all the LCD info, auto focus etc, when the shutter is fired all I get is ERR on the top LCD panel. Is it really neccessary to leave the Lithiums in when using the power adapter? I have read that doing so will rapidly deplete the Lithiums.
Any help will be much appreciated.

You want to take the CR-123's out when on the AC power.

I have run mine on the AC adpater for a cleaning, I had the CR-123's out but left the AA's for balance weight.

I will power it up tonight with no batteries and post results.

I have run my camera on the AC only for cleaning, had the CR-123's out, but left the AA's in for balance weight.

I will power up the camera tonight without anything inside and see what happens.
