I have been lurking on the forums here for a wile now and decided it was time I posted something up here for review. I am just starting to get the hang of using Photoshop and decided to try something simple. Here is my first shot are replacing the sky in a picture. I used the magic wand to select most of the sky and then delete it. I then went along the tree line with the eraser tool and tried to clean up the spots in between the leaves and branches. I ended up getting rid of more of the leaves and branches than I wanted, I just could not get it to look right otherwise. I then copied a large chunk of sky from another picture that I took the same day and pasted it into this picture. Comments or suggestions are always welcome.

Here is the original picture.

Looks good, Brian. How much time did all this take you? If you learn how to make selections using Alpha Channels, the sky would have been isolated in less than 3 minutes and you wouldn't have had to erase branches or leaves.

Could you give us less experienced folk a quick lesson in using alpha channels to make selections?

Thanks,

Ron
