I have two user's manuals for my D 300 on my Kindle Fire HD. One is the Nikon version and the other is Thom's. The mini is thinner and lighter than I expected, but appears more fragile than the Kindle. I don't think I would want to carry it around in my camera bag. Plus it was much more expensive than the kindle. I could have bought a Sony RX 100 for the same price.

Being realistic, I'm hoping fir enough Amazon credits to pick up a D200, an affordable upgrade to my well-used D80. It'll balance nicely on my Tamron 200-400, and as rough on bodies as I admitted l am, the tougher shell is a very good idea. Better autofocus options will be nice, especially shooting fox kits, birds, etc. 8-) I think with the two bodies, I can pause for a while, and save for a full frame eventually 8-)

Yuck! Bad idea to go full FX! Currently, your 200-400 is yielding images equivalent to 300-733 on DX. With FX, you are back to 200-400. But here is the problem: Nikon does not make a tough DX camera anymore, the and closest you can get for toughness is the D800. And if you think you can use DX mode for reach, that will give you an image quality no better than a D7100. Even though I have two D200's and will not get a D7100, save the money and get a D7100, it is a natural upgrade from your D80.

I got a secret tip at my local market way down in Tasmania off Australias southern coast, two very nice older ladies told me the D400 is coming in February.Rumours don't travel as far as that so I think they really really know. The news may have come from a visiting cruise liner passenger. They were smiling when they told me,so there it is.I told you last.

Always trust the smiling market ladies.

Merry Xmas.

I think they may have forgotten to mention that the D400 will be a low-end FX, rather than a high-end DX.

You can still keep the PDFs in there for reference. I have mine in two places: my iPad and my smartphone. When out and about & I run into trouble with a setting, I can refer to it on my phone. It's a much smaller screen but better than not carrying anything at all ;)
