The price of a Fuji 55 - 200 lens.

There is a post saying the Fuji 55 -200 lens can be purchased in the USA for $499 (converted to sterling that is £303) from Amazon. In the UK I have just looked on Amazon and the lens is advertised there for £579. Are we, once again, being ripped off in Britain? I like to buy my equipment locally.....any problems and it is easier to deal with.....I think my figures are correct. Philip.

$499 only if you buy a bundle = camera + lens (free SD card); otherwise it's full price, $699 (£425). Amazon US now charges taxes so that adds up. B&H has the same deal as Amazon with free shipping (US) and no taxes. I just got my X-E2 kit with 18-55mm ($1399 = £850) and the 55-200 lens ($200 off so $499 = £303) for a total of $1898 (£1154). EU countries tend to rip off on everything, and that's why I moved to the US.

Amazon had the stand alone lens at a $200 discount a couple weeks ago but they're back to full price now.

I'm in Australia and I hear your pain.

I jumped in to buy right at the time Amazon were having their stand-alone lens special but during checkout it said something like "Not available in your country".

Very annoying. :-x
