Canon SX280HS

Well folks, it looks like Canon has apparently discontinued this camera. I guess they can't fix the problems this camera has or they are just refusing to do so. Now truly the "HS" does stand for something. Thank you Canon for your wonderful customer support. I shall take this into very serious consideration when next I purchase a printer, camera, etc.

I suspect that the way canon has failed to handle this situation would be illegal under Australian consumer laws, its surprising that a class action has not been mounted somewhere in the world.

I guess the lesson has been to wait and not buy a model when first released.

Do you think it might be discontinued because a new model is on the way? They usually announce these around February or so, and then release them in early March, so maybe this would be the time that it would be discontinued.

Perhaps. However, Canon continues to sell many models older than the SX280HS. No, it's plainly obvious why they discontinued the camera. They can't fix, they don't want to fix it and they obviously hope the fallout will fade away. And it probably will. A shame!

Where does it say they discontinued it? I was just on their website and they're still selling them.
