For C&C, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

there is so much going on here it takes some time to figure it all out. the processing is working for me nice pic

What is not to like? This one really does need to be printed fairly large to get all the detail. On my monitor is not quite as detailed I'd like. Downsizing issue that is unavoidable. My only other comment is that while the sky is nice but not worth using half the frame. Given the vantage point and framing that too was probably unavoidable. Nice image.

Thanks guys. The vantage point had me a bit worried about dropping the camera in the river! I did have it firmly strapped around my neck. I agree with the larger is better for this one. I printed out an 8 x 11 and like the way it came out. I do think even larger might be better. My printer, while a decent Canon Pixma, has a problem with true black (maybe operator or profiling error...I don't know). Anyway, it came out with an ever so slight sepia cast but I think I actually like that better than true black. Anyway, thanks for the comments.

The wall leading in from the left is too prominent for my taste. I also think the crop on the cascade/fountain thing at the bottom of the image is awkward.

The tonality and processing is very nice.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually wanted to crop the wall the way it is to serve as a sort of left side border although I may have actually wanted it a bit more to the left. The waterfalls at the bottom appear the way they must from that particular shooting spot. I've got a few others with a different crop on the falls but in those the left part of the bridge is left out. I perhaps needed to be a bit lower and more to the right to take the shot but there was no real way to do that at the time. Thanks again.

I think I'd have mounted on a tripod, zoomed in a bit more on the building structures, set the aperture to f22 and lengthened the shutter speed(or even attached a ND filter) to pick up more movement in the clouds followed by some fairly liberal application of tonal contrast. It's a damn cool location not to load up that D300.
