Anyone have a feel for how the RX10 would perform for indoor sports? I'm not clear on how a 2.8 lens on a 1 inch sensor compares to APS-C.

Currently I use an A-57 and a sigma 50-150 2.8 and get pretty good results.

Like the idea of a bridge camera if the results were acceptable.

How are you doing with motion and 2.8? I suppose good lighting indoors helps.

I wonder why they did not use BSI version of type 1 sensor used in rx100m2? Makes me think it must be a new variation of type 1.

While the aperture and focal length range look fine for at least some indoor sports use, a tleast casually, I'd think one would need to see how well focus tracking, etc., dealt with the faster less predictable sports.

I'm just guessing, but I think this will be "the" camera for indoor sports parents(not pros). If the 10fps is really continuous & there's not a 10 frame limit like HX series, this tool will be fantastic at capturing entire sequences of volleyball serves, kills, digs and basketball jumps, drives & slam dunks! F2.8 is key in dimly lit high school gyms.

I hope the shutter sound is minimal too!
