Fuji X20 - silver or black?

Hi,

I'm looking at buying an X20 and I love the way the silver one looks. I haven't had a chance to see a silver one in-store, do you know if the silver part at the top is metal or metal-effect paint? I want this camera to look as nice in a few years as it does now!

I think you should look at one. I did and went with black, but a lot of people love the silver version.

Both the silver and black models have a painted top plate section - so you don't gain anything by buying the black model in terms of cosmetic durability.

Its probably easier to match the black paint for touching up. I've got the silver but am not worried about wear on the paint as long as the underlayer is attractive. The Pentax MX-1 has a brass top and bottom plate specifically for this reason. It adds character.

I couldn't decide either. I finally decided on the silver, for that more retro look. Got a silver thumbmate and a silver hood. Looks cool IMHO...
