Amazing isn't it? And I guess unless we are pointing a camera it, we take it much for granted. Nice shot anyway. I noticed it last night but didn't try to capture it like that with my EX1 and it's maximum 700mm focal length.
 
Took a simlar shot in July. Funny how the shadows on the moon look very different. Taken at 180mm. f5.6 1/1250.

My 500mm Rokinon prime with 2x teleconverter is on order. I bought it especially to make some lunar shots :-) I will receive it tomorrow and I will keep you guys posted about pictures quality.
 
Don't forget to keep us posted what that Rokinon and converter are doing.

Interesting how from the East Coast of the USA, two days ago, the moon appears to have rotated in your photo's from tonight.

good shots so far.

I guess if two shots were taken from opposite edges of the planet facing the moon, that may account for the differing perspective.
