Canon 5D Mark3 ?? only body? What do you think?

Hey Camera experts,

I wanna buy a Camera to take up photography as a profession. I was thinking of picking up a Canon 5D Mark 3 ....body only for a start and later pick up a lens.

You think this is a good plan?...how does the CanonMark3 take pics alone? with no lens?

I will be mostly taking portraits.

Honestly not sure if you are just trolling so I prepared two replies. The first assumes your question is serious and the second that it isn't...

1. It won't work at all. That fact that you even ask the question shows that you have not done even the minimal research necessary to be setting up a photography business.

2. That should be a great set up. It is especially good at the out of focus "bokeh" that good photographers love so much. In fact your photos will be pretty much all bokeh.

f/2.8 is a smaller number than f/22 in the same way that 100 is a smaller number than 20.

A better plan: getting the lens the same time as getting the body.

135 f2 or maybe 100mm

or perhaps a 70-200 2.8

No, it won't work w/o a lens so that's a bad plan. If you don't even have a budget for the 50mm f/1.8 lens, I suggest a Rebel series body with a kit lens rather than jumping to FF right away.
