Hi,
Something odd happening. I took a photo of a khaki green military cap (friend brough back from China) and on the preview it looks blue ! (not a little .... a LOT). did a white balance, same result !
the image on the card is fine but the LCD preview colour is way off. Is this a known issue ? If so is there a fix ?
Cheers...

Is it blue across the whole image, or just the cap? Does it happen with every image or just this one?

Is this an older DP-1, or a DP-1M?

Can you post the image from the card and also a shot showing the rear LCD, it may be easier to think about what is happening... I've not heard of anything like this before.

My Bad .... make that SD1 .....

. . . we're still no closer to helping you figure out the culprit. I think Kendall's questions are on the right track.

Apologies for the delay, I had to get back to the office so I could take a photo of the offending hat and display from the SD1.

This demonstrates the problem first image is the hat as it appears in the LCD (note almost looks like a washed out navy colour)

the second shows the hat, the SD1 and the LCD in the one shot

both photos taken with the cruddy camera of an iPhone5 ..... except the iphone 5 seems to render the colours correctly !?!!!

the image stored on the CF Card seems OK (I need to get to a card reader to get you the image .... will do shortly)

Any suggestions ?

.... this is NOT a rehearsal !!!

and here's the image from the card as rendered by in camera jpg - no adjustments made, that's straight off the card .... note the colour is khaki .... not blue as the LCD seems to indicate !

Bit frustrating ..... the SD1 is new and this is a bit disappointing. I'm hoping it is a setting somewhere that's off that I can change as opposed to the Camera being sub-optimal :-(

Thanks for the excellent pictures, those help a ton as I did not fully understand what the issue was...

That is a really strange issue. I would have said it was noise, but you aren't seeing any noise in the JPG when loaded into the computer. It's not a color issue as it doesn't seem to affect the whole cap. Similarly, I don't see how it could be a lens issue either.

Is there any way you could post the raw X3F somewhere? I would love to see the embedded JPG in the RAW file as I'll bet the color issue would show up there... so it could be an issue with the internal JPG conversion in camera for that particular subject where SPP would fix noise or has some flaw that the camera could not in JPG conversion (all previews are based off the JPG file).

I will also try to find a similarly colored green textured cloth and see if I can replicate using the SD-1.

Have you even seen this issue with any other subject or material?
