Print different size photos on one page

I'm looking for a recommendation.

I'd like a program (preferably free) that will easily print multiple photos of different sizes on one page.

I have previously used Photo Paper Saver but it doesn't work on my new Win 8 machine (even in compatibility mode).

I also have PhotoSlate 4 and it usually works but I can't get it to print a 4x6 photo on a 4x6 page. It tells me "photo size exceeds paper dimensions" I did try a custom size print (3.95" x 5.95"). That worked but seems a little unsophisticated.

In my searching, I've seen people suggest using MS Word, Excel or Publisher. I've tried these programs but it isn't easy to explicitly set a photo size.

Any suggestions?

This is where Qimage excels at. There is a 14 trial and there is sale on the Ultimate version till the end of the month.

I'm with Joe on this one. QImage isn't free, but it isn't expensive and it is the best layout program on the market. It is PC only and does an awful lot more than layout.

Almost any of the standard DAM program will also do layouts, including Lightroom and Aperture.

Agree.

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you already have Lightroom, it may very well do what you are looking for. and be "free" as far as out-of-pocket.

I second a vote for Qimage. It does exactly what you require.

Agreed!
Thanks again for the recommendations.

I've tried both programs and it's a little early to be conclusive but I think that I like Lightroom a little better. It seems a bit more complicated but it will probably do more for me.

I wanted something similar to Photo Paper Saver that was really simple and easy to use (and free) but that doesn't seem to exist for Win 8. If I have to use a more complicated program, I guess that I'll go "whole hog" and use the most capable program.

Thanks again!

You asked fir advice and git good advice. Get them both as everyone says. LR is brilliant at what it does, Raw conversion, tweaking your image to it's best and storing and categorising all your photos. Qimage will print them. They are both now not expensive.

as you use a Win machine get Qimage. It's a wonderful program. I just wish he could make a Mac version.

Runs great under Parallels.

You don't need Lightroom for printing. My guess is Lightroom is beyond what the OP needs. Photoshop Elements better advice since it is aimed at not complicating things. photoshop elements does (or did) have a "print multiple photos" option from the File menu.
