My new X100s shows I have taken 28 shots. It showed I had taken 27 shots yesterday then I took about 15 shots and it now shows I have taken 28. I'd estimate I have taken more like 80 shots since I got it.

Whats with the counter? Does it only show the number of shots once you've downloaded them or is it only showing jpegs taken not RAWs?

Strangely after a couple of days' light use the counter told me I had taken more than 1000 shots, which was impossible. The only explanation I could give at that time was that I inserted the memory card of my old X100 into the X100s and somehow the camera got the data from the files on the card? I cannot be certain, though.

Not sure how to read it. It has 28 and then 2 smaller zeros. I suppose that must mean 2800. That could only be from the card I used from my XE1. I guess I was misreading it and it really was 2800. But the 00 does not seem to change no matter if you take images.

Either way its not working properly.

I don't know if it makes sense to add shutter count to X100s. Doesn't the leaf shutter open and close too when the camera is turned on/off? And the way they implement it is confusing, too

The last two 00's are fixed and don't change, so technically the shutter count is only accurate within a block of 100 actuations.

Additionally, it is described in the manual what actions will increment the count (and iirc yes, starting up will also increment the counter).
