I just placed an order for a CAnon 6D + 24-105 F/4 kit lens (seems to be a better bang for $ than the Mark III for my needs)

my bro lend me his T3i Body + 50mm f1.8 + 55-250mm + Sigma 18m-250mm HSM MAcro Lenses

I'm just wondering if the T3i lens will work on the 6D for the mean time because it will take me some time to save $ for native full frame lens that I want.

If so. what are the issues with it? only thing I can think of is a cropped image where there is a huge black border around the image.

Canon lenses for EOS come in two mount variations : EF and EF-S.

Crop frame cameras can use either EF or EF-S lenses.

However EF-S lenses are intended for use on crop frame bodies only and, AFAIK, no Canon full frame will use them.

Should work on full frame

> 55-250mm

Crop frame only

> Sigma 18-250mm HSM

Crop frame only.

yes, some crop lens will leave you with a cropped image on full frame, others (EF-S) like the 55-250IS will not work however some EF-S lens can be modified to fit full frame (still leaving a cropped image!)
