This is a great camera which takes excellent pictures. The colors are very accurate to my eye and the pictures are very sharp. White balance works well in artificial light.

The lens is fast making better shots possible in low light conditions, plus you get higher shutter speeds. The camera is quick, you can take five shots in ten seconds. Uses standard AA batteries (thank you Olympus). My experience is a bit different than others; The batteries last a really long time. I can't comment on the NiMH since I haven't exhausted them yet, but NiCads will last for 50-70 shots even with some LCD usage and flash. As a test I also tried the included Sanyo Alkalines. I got 40 minutes of continous usage, 123 shots, 37 with flash, even a lot of zooming in and out and THE LCD WAS ON THE ENTIRE TIME.

The flash is decently powerful. I find it remarkable that I've taken over 200 shots of people, yet I haven't encountered Redeye.

The included remote control is handy. I've used it for shake free shots on a tripod.

The 3X Zoom is nice, however a small nit pick is that there is an approximate 1/2 second delay after you move the zoom lever before any zooming occurs.

Problems:

These are all small things:

Lens caps is not attached to camera. Turning on camera causes the cap to get ejected. I did the now common fix of drilling a hole in the cap and attaching it to one of the strap mounts.

No dedicated buttons for flash and spot metering; you have to go through the menu. These are used often enough that there should be buttons for these.

Jog dial imprecise; it's very easy to push in the wrong direction and make the wrong choice. This should be either a Nintendo style control (very precise) or four separate buttons.

Camera hangs awkwardly when strap is attached.

Tripod mount is plastic.
