I have always been a fan of small cameras, but I usually need to go with heavy, bulky (but reliable) Nikon F3/4/5 35mm cameras for most of my work. I use Leica M cameras on jobs where I need low weight, don't need extreme focal lengths and slow film changover isn't a problem.
Previous experiences with DCs have been a little mixed, but this little camera is a revelation. It feels almost as solid as a Leica M (or, for a better comparison, the old Rollie 35 - remember them?) and the picture quality is very good (though obviously not as good as a good 35mm neg).
I won't be trading in my M6 or F3 just yet, but I'm very impressed with this little camera. Nice job Canon.
Problems:
Average low light performance. Somewhat underpowered flash (understandable). Included 8Mb CF card too small for any serious use. No soft case included.
