My first digital; I wanted a moderate price with good quality for shooting 1) take along / family / nature quick shots 2) tripod; involved working shots in my sculpture shop including macro - a must. 3) I tend to keep and use tech items like this til they die. In three weeks I've found it needs bright light / flash OK for family shots indoors. I like the flash plug to use it with a tripod and large external flash. Eventually this will be my car / carry along camera when it's replaced by camera with a larger & faster lens and standard rechargeable batteries, it should serve me well in this capacity if it holds up.
Problems:
My biggest disappointment is that I specifically desired a macro lens for my work and this camera can only focus down to within 18 inches. I must purchase and use diopters from Kodak > telephoto > kit > Additional $200. I might have waited or put money into $800 camera with proper lens. I feel it's misrepresented. Battery goes after ~15 -20 shots > another $40 to Kodak for battery kit.
