For outside use the camera is second to none come indoors and drop all hope of any quality as the iso setting is only 80 so forget about low level lighting! If you use the flash it will take adequate for the small flash but I had hoped that it would work as well as its small brother.. The C200 is far superior in its lighting than its bigger brother C500 however the quality is not as good! Also be prepared to have a Rambo style battery belt pack as it chews up batteries like it is going out of style! Forget about using alkaline batteries, as they do not have enough power to turn the camera on! HP has stopped its manf. Of this camera but will stand behind it all the way! You do need to get to the presidents office of customer affairs however once there They have one of the best customer relations of any manf. I have seen!!! Bravo HP!! They will do what ever is necessary to make the customer happy!
