I have had and used many digital cameras, since they first came out. I must say on my first impression of the 995 was how well built and strudy it is. I put the camera on auto it was great for point and shoot. I then put in on manual and ran free, with FULL control without any problems from macro to lightning shots. Even with the shots at 10 seconds and no noise reduction, they were fantastic shots, even better with noise reduction. I would recommend to keep extra rechargable battery on hand, which I did buy. But at least you can by a Lithium battery at the supermarket if needed.
The Colors are very real with this camera, not over saturated as I have found with other digital cameras (trying to make the photo look pretty not real). But of course I have control of saturation if I need
as well as everything else.
I am very pleased with this camera and would recommend it to anyone just starting out, to almost Pro. If you just starting out, stick with auto till you learn the rest.
