I bought it as a pocketable easy to use point and shoot camera. I mainly wanted something as small and robust as possible that could be to hand at all times. In the end it was down to the ixus V and Yashica finecam S3. Why the ixus? Well physically it feels better made, its cheaper too and most importantly its quicker at taking pictures. Picture quality was the price to pay but its more than enough for printing normal sized photos and it you consider the price difference to its APS brothers it puts things into a clearer perspective, twice the price but four times the fun. I'm impressed with the battery life too, it lasted a wedding and filled a 64 mb CF card!
There aren't many exposure options, no speed, no ISO, no aperture, just exposure compensation but there again I wasn't in the market for an all bells and wistles wonder, I just want to take good photos. Compactflash memory was another plus point for me, this format seems to be more readily available at the moment, although the 8 Mb supplied with the camera is a bit of a joke. In short, its a lovely little design and well worth considering for anyone wanting something handy for those unknown moments.
Problems:
Battery warning may as well be auto cut off.
No protective bag with the pack.
8 mb Compactflash memory supplied (get serious).
Tripod mount (in metal not plastic like the yashica S3) is situated in one corner.
