I've owned this camera for about 3 months,
it replaced my Coolpix 700 which I had for
over a year. The 700 was great, but the 800
is even better with the 2x zoom. The firmware
in the 800 is a lot better as well. My 700
had a few quirks with it's auto-focus that are non-existant in the 800.

The 800's picture quality is tops for the
2MP cameras.

The wide range of features handle nearly
anything I've needed from a 'point and shoot'
digital camera.

My personal favorite features are the 3 selectable metering modes:
matrix, center-weight and spot.

Now that you can buy the 800 for $300.00, I believe it is one of the best bargains of
'any' digital camera in that price range.

The camera was great at $500.00, but now
is a 'steal' at $300.00.

64,000.00 question:

Would I buy again.

Absolutely!

Problems:

Maybe a little too much plastic (but what isn't these days )
functionally, No problems at all.
