I've had the camerea for about 3 weeks now (I
have taken exactly 859 photos) and have had
about 4 images printed at 8x10 which came out
wonderfully. This is not a point and shoot
camera and should not be purchased by those
looking for a point and shoot camera. So far,
I am very satisfied ith the photos that I
have been getting out of the D7. To address
some specific issues:
1. Build quality is fine. Build quality is
better than my Oly C-2100UZ.
2. Zoom ring is a little stiff but moves
smoothly and I have no problems working it
with my thumb and forefinger.
3. Lens is terrific.
4. Battery life is fine. I typically get 150+
shots with a set of 1550mAh NiMH batteries.
5. AF is a little slow so you need to prep
your shots a bit more. If you are shooting
sports, you better know the sport and know
what type of shots you want ahead of time.
Determine your shutter speed, aperture, focal
length, and focus distance ahead of time as
much as you can. It will be a fine sports
camera if you can do this.
I'm still learning the camera and so far my
photos are a little under exposed but nothing
that can't be easily fixed in an image
editing program.
Problems:
AF is a little slow. I can deal with it
though. Factory default settings just will
not do. Need to bump down the contrast and EV
a bit.
