It's my first digital camera! However I am an experienced user since I have been borrowing so many other camears in line of my work. This way I had a good "gut-feeling" where I should put my money! I would recommend this camera to anyone, but I would like to make you aware of some issues!

Problems:

I bought my camera in a Olympus Camera store in Pusan/ Korea, and they sold me a camera with A/V output to NTSC system. Since I live in Europe, obviously I would prefer PAL system. The Olympus instruction does not explain boldly enough that the NTSC or PAL cameras are "automatically" distributed based on conutry region. The only place I found the system described was on the warranty card that was signed by the shop. I wish I had known beforehand, and after reading reviews I thought it was compatible with bothe NTSC & PAL.
The other issue to be aware of is that the power adapter is an optional item, which most users obviously need. You cannot avoid purchasing additionally the poweradapter, batterycharger and extra memory (min 64MB) for this camera.
As a last note, I failed to understand that when using the USB cable, this workes as if the computer has an extra drive letter. This means you are not "downloading" the photos through software, but rather just doing regular file-transfer. When using the RS232 cable, you must use the software to download/transfer images. I suppose using a card adapter (floppy/PCMCIA) is really what most users would prefer, though!
