Great camera. I've had it for about 2 months and have taken ~1500-2000 pics and still churning along. The image quality is excellent. Though I did encounter a few problems, overall I'm pleased with the purchase. It gives me some great results.

Problems:

1. After shooting w/ continuous mode for some time (15-20 pics), it seems to have to catch up write writes from a bufer to the CF because suddenly continuous latency increases 3-4x (a matter of seconds.) May be due to IBM Microdrive limitiations (i was using the 340M model).
2. Sometimes auto focus takes far too long to calibrate. Many times waiting for the duration it took to meter the subject, I've missed my photo op.
3. The manual focus is quite ackward, you have to hold down the button on the left and manipulate the arrow buttons on the right. Would have been nicer to be able to roll the lens for focus adjustments.
4. The "lens adapter" for allowing 58mm filters to hook up is a complete rip off. It's a freakin piece of plastic that costs 20 cents to manufacture and 20 dollars to buy as a consumer. I am certain Canon makes a huge profit on this.

In my opinion the complaints in other posts about the cheap plastic covering of the i/o sockets are really lame. Who cares about the covering of the sockets, this really has little to do with the functionality of the camera. As long as the powercord stays in when I want it plugged in and the plastic covering covers it up when I don't, I'm happy.
