I borrowed, tested and compared 15 cameras from 2 to 5 megapixel before purchasing the Olympus C700 Ultra Zoom. The 10x optical zoom and macro, combined with the programmable and selectable modes, allow excellent shots from telephoto action on the ice rink to nighttime, long exposure shots of the Christmas tree without a flash. Would also be good for real estate photos. Excellent camera for the money, not my first or second choice of cameras but a fraction of the price of the pro-consumer SLR type with many of the features. Viewfinders are 100% of image. Color rendition is accurate and white balances are good with an auto white balance very helpful.
Problems:
8 MB memory module holds only 16 1600x1200 HQ shots. Software does not operate well under Windows XP Professional.
