A great little camera. I bought it for it's size and that feature makes the camera so great. It lacks the features of a normal sized camera, but you can easily take it anywhere so that you wind up using it more often and taking more pictures. Battery life is really not that big a deal, especially if you limit use of the LCD screen. I am considering getting a G2 for better macro performance (see below), but I don't want to give up the compact size of the S300. The S300 seems as if it is not enough camera for me, while the G2 may be too much. I am also considering the S40, but its macro performance is not much better than the S300 and it is almost as expensive as the G2.
Problems:
The camera really has no macro feature, which is a big concern of mine. I tend to want to take a lot of close ups, which you just can't do with this camera. Anything closer than 6 inches is blurred.
