I had a G1 for a year before I purchased the G2. The G1 was ok except for shooting inside. Because the lens is so small, it doesn't get enought light for the auto focus to work properly. Most of the photos were deleted. The G2 does a better job on inside shooting but still needs much imporvement. About 20% are out of focus, 40% soft focus and 30% minor to major lighting issues and 10% are excellent. But, with a speedlite and an 80/20 bounce the numbers change dramaticlly ! At least 70% excellent photos, and 30% have lighting issues (over/under). What a difference ! ! ! Most of the photos look like a professional took them. I am so happy with this camera.

GET A SPEEDLITE AND AN 80/20 BOUNCE.

Problems:

Auto focus under low light conditions. Forget about the internal flash.
