Finally opted for this camera after finding a good online price. Initial impressions were disappointing compared to online reviews to the point where I thought I may have a defective camera. I could not get a truly crisp image. I spent some time learning how to take a good shot and now have managed some excellent pictures. Auto mode is adequate for the majority of shots but dull lighting conditions do require some thought. I also find the pics very slightly soft, nothing too bad, I guess it's down to taste. I usually sharpen the images by a factor of 1 in MS Photoeditor and the results are excellent. The battery life is better than I expected but I prefer to use the LCD for for composing shots so I would recommend a second battery as a safe guard if you are away for the day. I also ordered a 128mb Flash card as the supplied 8mb card is far too limiting if you prefer to take pictures at the highest quality i.e. 1600x1200 superfine. Movie mode is also better than I was expecting, very good quality including good sound recording. Certainly more than a gimic feature and has it's uses. I would definitely recommend this take anywhere, compact camera. I'm glad I chose this camera.

Problems:

No issues at all with the hardware or software although the only software from the package that I use is Photostitch and Zoombrowser. Use your own manipulation software for pics and videos.
