Subject line said it all really: I need to be able to shoot about 1000 shots in one day, preferably without having to change card or batteries. The card is not a problem, since the resolution required is only 640*480, but the battery life is, since a life of maybe 6 hours with LCD on would be required.

Anyone got any idea how I could achieve this? I know a prosumer camera with extra battery pack might do it (eg CP5000), but have you any other suggestions?

Thanks,

F.

I've never heard of any DC with that kind of battery life, an external battery pack, and a big one at that, is going to be a necessity. On the DSLR side, the D100 gets the best battery life of them all, if you don't use playback and use a CF card (no microdrive) you might get the 1000 shots with 2 batteries, but not likely 1. With the Coolpix series, it would likely be cheaper and lighter to have 3 or 4 batteries, like the EN-EL1, than a bigger battery pack.
Do you really want to carry a car battery?
