Beginner's question, please help...
Problems:
A beginner's question here. Using my coolpix for a few months now, and I've found that the built in flash doesn't perform well when the zoom is over 100m, and the target is 20 feet away. Seems that the min aperture at that level isn't sufficient for STANDARD indoor lighting conditions. The only solution I've found is to increase "film speed" from auto to 400 or higher, but that gets annoying to have to go throught the menu and turn on noise reduc. every time I take an indoor shot, and turn it off later. Slowing shutter speed isn't an option because my target is very often moving...my kid. I increased the power of the flash to the max setting, but it didn't help. All it did was cause the image to be "blown out" when the shot was taken from close range, but at the 20-30 ft. range the lighting didn't improve.
Taking the same shot with a film camera (Canon EOS Rebel) resulted in much better lighting on the shot, without any tweaking...just using the auto settings. Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem??
Thanks for any help in advance.
