The Dimage X proved to be a steal considering the fact that its competition included the Canon Digital Elph S330 and the Nikon Coolpix 2500. While the Canon was priced at above $340, the Dimage X was priced at less than $250.

After comparing my Dimage X to two friends' S330's, it's pretty obvious which one is more portable. The S330 seems bulky in comparison. Forget what you read about the corners of images being darker. My camera produced no such images. Images were probably a little lacking in sharpness but were better than those taken with the Canon S200. The S200 is pricier than the Dimage too!

If you want a small (the smallest this year) camera, 2 megapixel-res. and are willing to sacrifice a couple of options such as extended shutter speed, you can't go wrong with this neat little silver box. For the money, it's incredible value.

Problems:

Brushed aluminum front gets scratched easily. I purchased a case after a tiny scratch appeared the first week I owned the camera.
