I had been fairly happy with the d1x except fot the cyan tone to the images shot outside using sun setting and the inconsistency of other settings...until it quit in the middle of a shoot last week...everythig appeared to be working except it would not write new images to the card..it is now at Nikon in warantee repair and 'waiting for a part' with no estimated time for return...this is unaccepatbe for a camera less than 6 months old and i would not buy another at this point.

see above..my advice if you pruchase this camera is to shoot as much as possible to uncover any problems before the warantee runs out..repair can be very pricy.
