Just bought this camera instead of the CoolPix 5700. I like the LCD screen's resolution, the battery life is great, and the low-light focus is the best I've tested so far. The menu is intuitive, the flash is powerful, and the feel of the camera is not as bulky as I thought. In fact, my large hands quite enjoy working with this camera.
Problems:
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! SMALL MEMORY STICK!!!! I NEED MORE STORAGE!!!!!!!
...maybe if I yell loudly enough, Sony will hear me.
This is the ONLY thing I do not like so far about this specific camera. It may be the reason I take it back as I have several CF cards. Also, this is what makes me rate this camera as a 4 in the "bang for your buck" category.
On a personal note...
I have taken a few pictures and compared them to the same staged shots I took with my old Kodak DC4800 tonight. Although the resolution is better with larger prints (Sony), it is not noticable enough to the novices I had review the prints. This makes me question the need to upgrade to 5 from a 3.1 megapixel camera - especially since this Sony is the best-resolution in a 5 MP camera I've found! I do like the newest toys though...
