Basically the same review as Grizzly Adams below. I bought the camera after reading and seeing his pics last week. Coming from a DX3900 Kodak, this is a real step improvement towards quality. I bought mine in Tokyo for 53,000 yen. If anyone in Japan is interested in prices, I found a place just outside of Shibuya JR station that sells its for 48,000 yen (unfortunately only found this AFTER my purchase).
Problems:
1). The construction of the lid / lense cover is a little bit sloppy, if you open it by sliding the cover (instead of push it down then slide), it has a tendency to slip off the "tracks", but not falling out.
2). If you catch the glare just right (e.g. in a dark room shooting photos of a bright window outside), the LCD SOMETIMES will appear redish. I dont know if its only on mine or was my photoshooting strange that day, happened only twice since I got it. However, the image is not affected, its just how it looked on the LCD BEFORE you snap the pic.
