This camera is begining to show it's age. I bought it but I'm going to return it soon. I have 3 digital cameras and none are this bad. When people said it doesn't autofocus well they weren't kidding. I can take 4-5 pictures on a clear sunny day of the same exact thing and about 2 will be completely out of focus. I even took very special care to center the focus point on the subject. Even distant picture across a grassy field were out of focus. Usually when you take an out of focus shot, something in the picture is in focus, even if it's not what you want, on this camera eveything was out of focus. That's not reassuring when I do profesional action photgraphy and may not be able to get the shot again. Also when they said the preview mode is slow I figured how slow can it be. It was far, far worse in real life. If you zoom in preview mode, forget it. To go from normal to 1.5 it takes about 5-6 seconds, then from 1.5 another 5-6 seconds and so on until you wasted about a 1/2 minute just to zoom in on one picture 4 to 1 then it takes you another 1/2 minute to zoom back to normal so you can go to the next picture, what where they thinking. Picture to picture preview is slow but not terrible with normal jpeg's. Also the eyepiece is hard to get a good view of quickly, you sometimes have to move your head around to catch the entire display. Overall the pictures came out bland, flat and lifeless. I also bought the Fuju S602 to compare and it's no comparison, the S602's pictures where razor sharp everytime, colors where more accurate, the contrast and color saturation didn't even need photoshop touchup. So what's good about the camera? It's a solid brick, looks very professional looking, very little purple fringing and the flash is very good. Also I had zero dead pixels.
Problems:
- really bad unpredictable autofocus
- annoying viewfinder
- poor color saturation
- poor contrast
- inconsistant color accuracy
- very, very, very slow
