I've had this camera for a little over 2 months and continue to be impressed by its versatility. Having owned several (and still own one) earlier version digital cameras, the D100 performs far beyond my expectations.
Issues raised as regards image softness are highly exagerated and only applies to JPEG format, and then only if no post processing (which I almost allways do) is performed. Using "in-camera sharpening" hides this, but comes with a permanent loss of detail.
When shooting in RAW (NEF) format the image quality is amazing.
Construction, features, ease of use and value for the money in my opinion are nothing short of excellent.
Problems:
This is not a problem just a comment; the external power supply and Nikon Capture 3.5 software should have been included as part of the camera package.
