My first venture into the digital world after owning an SLR. I have owned my 6900 for 8 months and have not shot a single shot with my film equipment.
The SLR type features of the 6900 are excellent, allowing all level fo control to be handled by the camera or the user.
Image quality is excellent, usually requiring only superficial software tweking.
Users should continue to refer to the user manual after initial purchase and early use because I guarantee that there will always new features to find.
Problems:
Autofocus can be slow in low light conditions
EVF not brilliant in low light either
shutter lag makes capture of fast action tricky but if you can master manual focussing, the shutter lag can be reduced from up to a couple of seconds to around 0.1 secs.
aim to have a backup battery and a 128Mb SM to allow continued use if unable to recharge for any reason.
