There is certainly a lot of hubbub about CA. I bought the camera after testing it at the store under a variety of conditions. Yes CA can be found but I've had 35mm zoom lens of high quality have as much or more, especially at the edges of the frame. Since 12/02 I've taken many exceptional quality pictures with this camera and CA has never been an issue and I inspect my photos with a loop. I was pleasently suprised, I was all ready to see it. Maybe I tend to keep the sun to my back I guess. A test shot with blown-out white next to black will produce CA, especially at wide angle I think. The following are the good points of this camera as I've experienced them.
1. excellent sharpness, edge to edge, even at the impressive f1.8 wide open aperature at "wide" angle, a tough design job with this "physically" small array
2. Great depth of field, I've experienced many zoom lenses that due to field curvature (I speculate) have poor depth as compared to a single focal length lens at the same settings, very odd
3. Very high color accuracy, nice skin tones
4. When using flash you can choose aperature priority and the camera automatically adjusts flash strength, I like depth so I tend to stop down with flash
5. This camera can approach 35 mm quality, the resolution is greater than I thought a 5M camera could do. I made a pano of the San Diego skyline with three frames and the detail is exceptional.
6. IT USES AA's, and it sips them, excellent battery life

Problems:

Lens cap impedes the lens if you turn the camera on when in a pic taking mode, a nuisance.

Printed manual is vey limited in information, CD manual is HUGE. I guess thats how it is for such sophistcated cameras.
