I bought my Coolpix 5000 some 3 months ago and I have taken about 2500 pictures so far. It is an impressive camera with an almost unlimted range of settings and features, which also include a unique character which you must learn how to control.
I recommend the CP5000 to people that want to explore and learn how to fine tune their photographing skills. If you want a "point and shoot" camera, you should choose other models such as the CP4300 og 4500.
Problems:
Difficult to control flash exposure (external flash recommended)
Light sensor located close to hand grip (new habit required)
Resolution (XVGA, VGA etc) button easy to press by accident
