Superb results for 3.3 megapixels, showing that software, lens and sensor size are probably more important than the much quoted pixel count.
I have not bought a D60 because the benefits on the one I tried were not enough to justify the cost of changing, I will consider a D10.
I hate flash and the variable ISO means I need it much less.
The response time from pressing the shutter to taking the picture is the fastest I have experienced on a digital camera. It it is slow if one relies on autofocus in low contrast situations whilst having the camera set to one shot. On AI servo repeat shots are possible sooner and the shot is taken even without focus lock - better IMHO.
Battery life has been stupendous.
This is the best all round camera for daily use that I have bought in 40 years of photography. I have only put a very few films through my EOS1n since I bought the D30. FWIW for higher quality stuff I use a Leica M6 or Rolleiflex 6008 and it is a tribute to the Canon how much less I use these now I have the D30.
Problems:
I am not a fan of autofocus and rarely use it and the viewfinder is not very good for manual focus.
The autofocus is slow in poor light, which is pretty well the only time I want to use it.
