having used the S404 and then the D7i, i needed the noise free images from my Canon D60 to satisfy me. great camera, but the size and time for quick setups has me feeling a void for a snap shot camera (to say the least) and the new S414 hit a home run from the first click. as a matter of fact, i have done some comparison shots with it against my DSLR and i'm ashamed (for the D60) to say that the 414 packs a mighty punch in the detail department.
Kudos to you Minolta for having fixed the AF issues, noise issues, and most important, the color space that no longer needs the DiVu software for conversion.......i can now shoot and print right off the CF card without a bunch post processing.
Problems:
only because i understand the importance of WB do i say that at times (mostly under incadescent lighting) have i seen a slight yellow tint, but using the filter set to "cool" eliminates it.
