I've sold cameras for almost 4 years, and 4 years ago we were selling 2mp digi cams with full manual controls for a thousand dollars! This one has more features, much faster, and one fourth the cost. The menus are laid out very well. The feel is great no matter how big your hands are. It's meant for one hand operation, and the grip provides great handling. People want small, so every camera company has build smaller and smaller cameras. If you want a bigger camera, what can you do?? BUY the older model! I got my Canon EOS 10D two weeks ago, and this one is great for college parties where I can't lug around the monster 10D. I'm very happy it has a built in speaker, because most cameras in that price range DO NOT, but most canons do! yahoo! And full TV AV and M modes? WOW!! Batt. life on the A60 is really the best I've ever seen or sold, that takes AA batt., (with 1850mAh). 1.9 million pixels is PLENTY for printing! I've made a few 8x10, no problem! That's why I didn't spend more for the A70. I'm a pro photograher that was looking for a camera for parties etc. The Canon A60 is good for entry level up to simi-advanced.
Problems:
The only thing I don't like is when I'm in the shooting mode, and in a menu, and when I take a pic, it doesn't go out of menu mode. You can see what your doing, but the transparent menu is still on screen, reminding you that you've adjusted the settings. Yes you can hit the menu button again, but I wish it did that as soon as you tap the shutter. Like the D30/60 10D. I wish the camera was a tad smaller to fit better in my pocket.
